PALOKINKOSKET Sahakoski 1775
A dream is your goal – hope is your path – *sisu* is your steed.
Palokinkosket
Palokki, Heinävesi
Come and experience the excitement and enjoy the moment.
The Palokki rapids are located in Heinävesi; through them, waters from the Juojärvi route flow into the Heinävesi route—specifically into Lake Varisvesi—and onwards towards southern Lake Saimaa and the Vuoksi River.
Lake trout that forage in Lake Juojärvi inhabited and spawned in the rapids. Additionally, the rapids were frequented by lake trout and landlocked salmon migrating upstream from downstream areas to spawn.
The total drop of the Palokki rapids from Lake Juojärvi is nearly 20 meters.
